Applying a facial moisturiser is a crucial step in any skincare routine — no matter your skin type. From dry to oily to blemish-prone skin, CeraVe has a facial moisturiser for you. All of our formulas contain three essential ceramides and help protect the skin’s natural barrier, keeping moisture in and irritants out. We have formulas, developed with dermatologists, for day and night.

FAQs

  • You should moisturise your face twice a day as a minimum: once in the morning and once in the evening. You can moisturise more than this if your skin is very dry and your skin barrier is compromised.
  • Apply moisturiser to the face in a gentle massage action, patting it into place rather than rubbing. Make sure you cover the face and neck evenly.
  • Moisturiser delivers hydration to the surface of the skin. This helps the skin to feel more comfortable and also supports and strengthens the health of the skin barrier. This skin barrier is responsible for protecting the skin from harmful elements, and keeping the skin plump, soft and smooth.
  • When applying a moisturiser such as CeraVe to the face and neck, try to create an even, thin layer. This equates to around a teaspoon or a little bit less depending on your moisturiser’s consistency. You may choose to apply more if your skin is very dry, and a little less if you’re quite oily.
  • Before using a body moisturiser on your face, you should take a look at the ingredients and formula and consider your skin type. Body lotions are often greasier and thicker than formulas designed for the face - this can cause problems especially if you have oily or congested skin. Likewise, the skin on the face is often more sensitive than the body and body lotions often contain fragrance that could irritate it. Some CeraVe formulations are designed for both body and face.
